Murali Krishna, who was in prison but is now free, shares a sad love story with people on a school bus. Murali Krishna is an orphan and works as a forest officer. He falls in love with a local tribal woman named Tulasi while he's staying in a forest area. Murali Krishna and Tulasi decide to marry, and he goes to tell his best friend about their plans. On his way back, a police officer arrests Murali Krishna, mistaking him for a naxalite. He accidentally kills a policeman during the arrest and gets a life sentence in jail.

While in jail, Murali Krishna writes a letter to Tulasi, telling her to forget about him. As his prison term is about to end, Murali Krishna writes another letter to Tulasi to see if she still waits for him. After enduring many difficult years in jail, Murali Krishna goes to meet Tulasi to find out if she still loves him. In the end, it's revealed that Tulasi indeed waits for Murali Krishna.

In this film she interviews two prisoners serving life imprisonment and awaiting the death sentence, firstly, Kothala Thevar's (Pasupathy) life sentence, and secondly, Virumaandi (Kamal Haasan), who is sentenced to be hanged. While listening to their versions of the same story, she realises that Virumaandi is being punished for a crime he did not commit. Kamal Haasan acting, and Direction made it a huge commercial success at the box office.

The film Director took at most care to explores love's complexity, and its shaping new identity over time. Nivin Pauly as George spectacular acting and Rajesh Murugesan's music enhance the love depth.
