Mukesh Kumar, born on 12th October 1993 and originally from Kakarkund in Gopalganj district, Bihar, commenced his cricket journey with his first-class debut on 30th October during the 2015–16 Ranji Trophy.
Later, on 13th December 2015, he made his List A debut in the 2015–16 Vijay Hazare Trophy, and on 6th January 2016, he had his Twenty20 debut in the 2015–16 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
In September 2022, Mukesh received a significant opportunity when he was called up to join the Indian cricket team for the ODI series against South Africa.
The 2022 IPL Auction saw Delhi Capitals making an impressive purchase by acquiring Mukesh Kumar for a staggering INR 5.5 crore, which marked the second highest bid for an uncapped player that year.
Subsequently, in December 2022, he was selected to represent the Indian cricket team in the Twenty20 International (T20I) series against Sri Lanka.
Adding to his achievements, in June 2023, Mukesh Kumar secured a spot in the Indian squad for the tour of West Indies, where he was named in the team across all three formats of the game.
